Bruins Stop Kings Short to Win, 3-2

Defenseman Ray Bourque scored two goals as the Boston Bruins built a 3-0 lead, then held off a third-period rally by the Kings to take a 3-2 National Hockey League victory Thursday night at the Forum.
The Bruins took their advantage on the strength of two power-play goals, the first from Bourque with 4:09 left in the first period. In the second period, Boston scored twice. Cam Neely scored his fifth goal of the season on a power play at 7:41 of the second period.
Bourque then added his second goal of the evening with 7:37 left.
The Kings scored their two goals in the third period, the first a 25-foot wrist shot by Wells at 3:15. Dave Taylor finished the scoring with a five-foot backhander at 9:09.
