Arson Suspected in Fire at Army Base

SAN FRANCISCO — Arson is suspected in a fire at an Army base child-care center in San Francisco that has been the focus of a child molestation investigation, the FBI said Wednesday.
The blaze Tuesday destroyed a classroom in a wood-frame building at the Child Development Center on the Presidio Army base near the Golden Gate Bridge.
FBI spokesman Chuck Latting said there was no evidence that the fire was related to the molestation investigation, in which a former civilian employee of the center, Gary Hambright, is charged with molesting 10 preschool children.
