COLLEGE HIGHLIGHTS : Benton Rallies Pierce Past Valley in Water Polo

Glen Benton scored three goals, including the game-winner with 48 seconds left, as Pierce College defeated Valley, 14-13, in a nonconference water polo match Tuesday at Pierce.

Drew Blaisdell scored a game-high seven goals and Lance Dempsey had three for Pierce (6-12).

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Pierce d. Santa Monica, 15-10, 15-5, 12-15, 7-15, 15-8--Kim Nikisher and Tracy Bryant each had 12 kills for Pierce (3-4, 4-5) in a Western State Conference match at Pierce.

Moorpark d. Santa Barbara, 16-14, 15-6, 16-18, 15-12--Liz Tagg had 12 kills and 10 blocks for the Raiders (8-2, 6-1) in a Western State Conference match at Moorpark.
