Clippers to Open Exhibition Season

The Clippers open their exhibition season tonight against the Utah Jazz at Cedar City, Utah.
Coach Gene Shue plans to start three rookies--center Steve Ledesma and forwards Norris Coleman and Tod Murphy, formerly of UC Irvine and Lakewood High School. Quintin Dailey and Darnell Valentine will start at guard.
Jazz forward Thurl Bailey will miss the game with a sprained right ankle. Center-forward Darryl Dawkins, recently acquired from the New Jersey Nets, isn’t expected to play.
