A gunman and three other illegal aliens were arrested about 5 a.m. today after shots were fired at Inglewood police officers. “The officers who responded to the scene could actually see and hear the bullets striking the ground near their feet,” Sgt. Harold Moret said.
No injuries were reported. Fifteen people were evacuated while SWAT officers used a bullhorn to persuade the suspects to come out of a second-floor apartment in the 100 block of East Buckthorn Street. Police said they recovered a .38-caliber Colt Commander pistol and found 30 expended shell casings in and around the apartment. Moret said it appeared the gunman who began shooting about 1:45 a.m. “was just blowing off rounds for the heck of it.” Officers identified Erasmo Robles, 24, as the man who they had seen fire from the window. Also arrested were Guadalupe Robles, 25, no relation, and cousins Rafael Becerra, 28, and Jesus Becerra, 23. All four were identified as illegal aliens from Jalisco, Mexico, Moret said.
