USIU’s Wahl Takes One-Stroke Lead

Jim Wahl of United States International University shot an even-par 72 Monday to take a one-stroke lead after the first round of the Texas Invitational at the Riverside Golf Course in Arlington, Tex.
Wahl opened his round with three consecutive birdies on the 7,025-yard course. The 36-hole tournament concludes today.
Brad Mills of Mary Hardin-Baylor and Eion Leggatt of Texas Wesleyan are at 73.
Texas Wesleyan leads the 20-team field with 300, and Huntington, Ala., and Southern Methodist University are second at 306. USIU is sixth at 313.
