Conservative members of the congressional committees investigating the Iran- contra scandal secured changes to water down language in a draft report that compared the affair to Watergate, the New York Times said. The alterations in the report also included a change in the title of a chapter called “Cover-Up” to “something nondescript,” the newspaper said, quoting congressional officials. The final report of the joint House and Senate committees is scheduled for release at the end of the month.
