Just when I thought everything on television...

Just when I thought everything on television was a repeat, a rewrite or a rehash of something we’ve seen before, along comes “Beauty and the Beast.” Thank goodness this imaginatively conceived, sensitively written and beautifully crafted production was brought to us by (executive producers) Paul Junger Witt and Tony Thomas. I shudder to think what would have happened to this fragile, mystical story line if it had been dropped into that room full of monkeys at their typewriters who have given us “Prime Time at 7:30.”
