El Modena Drives Past Grossmont

Running back Pat LeBorio rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown as El Modena used a ball-control offense to grind out a 20-6 nonleague victory over Grossmont Saturday at El Cajon.
El Modena (3-2) led, 10-0, at halftime after a six-yard touchdown pass from Blake Flynn to LeBorio and a 35-yard field goal by Tim Hatcher.
LeBorio caught 5 passes for 54 yards.
Marcus Esposito replaced Flynn, who injured his hand in the first half, and drove El Modena 82 yards to a 17-0 lead in the third quarter. John Sharpe broke through a wide hole on the left side for a 20-yard touchdown run. Esposito completed passes of 21 and 23 yards on the drive.
Hatcher added a 30-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter to give El Modena a 20-0 lead.
Grossmont (1-4) scored when defensive lineman Dale Crogan wrestled the ball from Sharpe and ran 33 yards midway through the fourth quarter.
