When President Reagan’s eyes fill with tears and his voice is choked with emotion; when Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Del.) does the same at his withdrawal announcement; when a sport’s figure cries in front of the TV camera, we say “how touching.” When Rep. Pat Schroeder (D-Colo.) does it, we say “how weak.” Incredible.
