Carlsbad Police Probe Woman’s Death

Carlsbad homicide detectives are investigating the apparent strangulation of a woman whose body was discovered Saturday morning on an ivy-covered hillside in the 7000 block of Estrella del Mar in La Costa.
The victim was identified by the San Diego County coroner’s office as Julie Hernandez, about 26, a transient who is believed to have lived in Mexico.
Deputy Coroner Charles Kelley said the woman was found partially clothed but there was no immediate sign of sexual assault.
