HIGH SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS : Glaze Sets Record, but Crespi Wins

Notre Dame’s Mike Glaze was as surprised as anyone when he set a course record during a Del Rey League cross-country meet against Crespi on Thursday at Woodley Park.

“I had no idea that I was running that fast,” said the Notre Dame senior, whose 15 minute, 31 second clocking bettered the previous mark of 15:33, set by Crespi’s Jeff Jacobs in 1984.

“I didn’t know I was on course-record pace until my coach yelled at me with 70 yards to go,” Glaze said. “Then I just took off.”
