ANSON, Tex. — Grandmothers and high school students alike did the Texas two-step Thursday night at this West Texas town’s first legal public dance in 54 years.
“I love to scoot a boot,” said Melissa Boudreau of Anson, who took to the floor with high school classmate Jeff Gray for the first tune, “Everybody in Town Goes Crazy Over You.” The Footloose Club sponsored the first legal shindig since 1933 after the City Council decided that dancing was permissible.
