Smith Named to Fullerton Foundation Post

Douglas B. Smith was appointed associate athletic director for development and executive director of the Titan Athletic Foundation at Cal State Fullerton Tuesday by President Jewel Plummer Cobb.

Smith, 41, was associate athletic director for external affairs and executive director of the Mustang Club for eight years at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He replaces Bob Arkeilpane, who left in August to become associate director of development at the University of Cincinnati.

Ed Carroll, Fullerton athletic director, called Smith “one of the top athletic fund-raisers in the nation.”
