Outside of tempting gambling addicts to throw their money away at a faster pace, I fail to see any advantage to Southern Californians now that Assemblyman Richard Katz’s AB 1839 has become law.
The bill would provide for a commission to study the feasibility of building and operating a high speed “gambler’s special” train between Southern California and Las Vegas. One can easily see the benefits for Las Vegas, so why don’t Vegas officials conduct the study and pay for the project?
I can’t help but wonder (with angry frustration) why our legislators in Sacramento can’t find anything better to do with their time and our money than propose such utterly preposterous and unessential legislation.
