Goodman’s Block Makes Difference for Woodbridge

Defensive lineman Mike Goodman blocked an extra-point attempt in the third quarter to help Woodbridge High School to a 7-6 nonleague victory over Corona del Mar at Newport Harbor High School Friday.
John Rios rushed for 60 yards in 17 carries to lead the Warriors (4-0). Matt Patterson rushed 99 yards and a touchdown in 18 carries for the Sea Kings (0-4).
Woodbridge gained 65 yards rushing and 89 yards passing; the Sea Kings gained 117 yards rushing and 96 yards passing.
Woodbridge scored on a 60-yard pass from Derick Odum to Dak Jordan. Jeff Smith kicked the extra point.
