The first of five new episodes of “Jim Cooper’s Orange County” for the 1987-88 season will be broadcast tonight at 8:30 on KOCE-TV Channel 50.
Since Cooper raised $106,000 in private donations, his weekly public-affairs series has been assured of at least a 24-week season, station officials said. KOCE has said it is unable to provide underwriting for the show.
Tonight’s program, “Orange County Centennial: Getting Ready To Celebrate,” will feature Cooper’s interviews with Bob Clifford, Darrell Metzger and other Centennial planners.
The other programs: “State Senators on Orange County Legislative Goals,” Oct. 9; “The Fight Over Growth in Orange County,” Oct. 16; “Orange County’s Future Water Needs,” Oct. 23, and “Orange County’s Cultural Menu,” Oct. 30.
