The Senate voted to confirm the nomination of Adm. William J. Crowe Jr. to a second two-year term as chairman of the military Joint Chiefs of Staff. The action was taken by voice vote with no expressed opposition. Under the terms of the recently enacted reorganization bill affecting the Department of Defense, Crowe is also serving as chief military adviser to the President.
