Anaheim : Man, 82, Dies When Hit by 2 Trucks; 1 Speeds Off

An 82-year-old man was killed Wednesday after being struck by two trucks in quick succession, with the first truck leaving the scene of the accident.
The victim, dead at the scene, was identified as Wilber C. Jones. Police said he was struck at about 6:19 a.m. while crossing La Palma Avenue east of Sunkist Street, just outside a trailer park, according to Sgt. Ron Girk.
Police said they are searching for the first truck, described by witnesses as a large gray commercial vehicle, possibly a dump truck, that left westbound on La Palma Avenue at a high rate of speed.
Police declined to identify the second driver, who was not held or charged.
