Summit Planning Session Due

WASHINGTON — The United States and Soviet Union are expected to announce shortly that a key planning session for the second superpower summit will be held in September, State Department officials said today.
The announcement that Secretary of State George P. Shultz and Foreign Minister Eduard Shevardnadze will meet was expected to be made jointly by the State Department and Soviet Foreign Ministry as early as Wednesday, the officials said.
