LSU Admits to 15 Violations, Denies 11 Others

Louisiana State University officials accepted blame Wednesday for 15 of 26 alleged violations of NCAA rules involving football players, and the NCAA announced it has found more alleged infractions in the school’s basketball program.
The NCAA report on the football probe accused LSU of 26 rules violations between 1979 and 1986.
The most serious charges included accusations that former player Marcus Moore sold his free season tickets to an athletic booster for $1,097, that assistant coach Darrell Moody gave $300 in cash to a prospective recruit and that former assistant coach Greg Williams gave two recruits a free trip to the 1981 Super Bowl in New Orleans.
LSU denied those charges and eight others.
The NCAA will propose any penalty after a meeting with LSU officials next month.
A separate investigation of the LSU basketball program has also turned up alleged violations, NCAA enforcement director David Berst said in a letter detailing the football allegations.
