Truck Rams Apartment; 2 Die

SLATINGTON, Pa. — A tractor-trailer carrying a construction crane went out of control today and crashed into an apartment building for the elderly, killing two people and injuring at least seven, authorities said.
Witnesses said the tractor-trailer went out of control coming down a hill and its horn was blasting as it crashed into the Mountainview Apartments, a subsidized home for the elderly. It smashed into a corner of the building, damaging the first and second stories.
