General Dynamics earned $103.5 million on revenue of $2.3 billion in the second quarter, a 3.9% increase in profit on an 18.8% jump in revenue from the same period last year. The St. Louis-based aerospace firm said earnings were pulled down by a $12.5-million net loss at its Cessna Aircraft unit. Meanwhile, the firm’s California-based missile and gun operations posted operating profits of $44.3 million, a 23% increase in profit over the year before.
