Andrew Gets a Princely Raise

LONDON — Prince Andrew, who vowed to take Sarah Ferguson “for richer or poorer,” received an automatic $45,000-a-year pay raise today the minute he married her.
By surrendering his bachelorhood and becoming a married man, the 26-year-old prince’s Civil List allowance as part of Britain’s Royal Family rose from $30,000 a year to $75,000. Andrew also earns about $19,500 a year as an active member of the Royal Navy plus a $3,000 bonus as a helicopter pilot.
