San Diego police investigators are searching for a motive in the death of a bookstore clerk found shot in his downtown apartment.
Police found Harold Lee Stubbs, 48, dead at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in his bedroom in an 8th Avenue apartment after the building owner reported Stubbs was not answering his door.
Stubbs worked for a bookstore in Chula Vista.
