Perfect Match, ridden by Chris McCarron, held off the early pace and took command going into the stretch to win the $25,000 feature race by 1 3/4 lengths Thursday on Hollywood Park’s turf course.
Jockey Alex Solis and Ruffles N Beaus were setting the pace at the top of the stretch when the horse jumped the rail and spilled Solis onto the turf course.
Solis was taken to a nearby hospital for observation.
Arlibra Lady, with Corey Black in the saddle, finished second, two lengths in front of Dawn of Hope in the 1 1/16 test for fillies and mares, 3-year-old and up.
Carrying high weight of 122 pounds, Perfect Match ran the 1 1/16 miles in 1:41 3/5 to defeat five rivals and capture the $13,750 winner’s purse.
Sent off the third choice by 16,966 fans, Perfect Match paid $7.80, $3.60 and $4.
