Christina (Missy) Kurt of Westchester, a three-sport star for Notre Dame Academy in West Los Angeles, has been named an Academic All-American Scholar by the National Secondary Education Council. Students selected for the award must have a grade-point average of 3.3 (out of a possible 4 points) and be recommended by a school counselor.
Kurt, who will be a senior at Notre Dame in the fall, has been a top athlete in volleyball, basketball and softball. A setter and captain of the Asics Tiger Volleyball Club of Santa Fe Springs, she recently led the team of 17-year-old girls to championships in the U. S. Volleyball Assn. National Junior Olympic Tournament at St. Paul, Minn., and in the Volleyball Festival at Davis.
She is the daughter of Noreen and Dave Kurt.
