JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — A bomb went off in front of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange during the evening rush hour today. Emergency Service officials said no injuries were reported and damage was slight.
The device was wrapped in paper and placed under a hedge in front of the building, said reporters from The Star newspaper, which is next to the stock exchange. It was the first bombing reported in South Africa since July 4, when a blast in front of a Pretoria supermarket injured 20 people.
