Lear Siegler Inc. said it named Frank E. Cole, 55, as president of its Santa Ana-based energy products division, replacing Orrin T. Bowland, who is retiring.
Cole had been president of Lear’s transport dynamics division, also in Santa Ana, and the company said it will merge the two units. Energy products employs 780 and transport dynamics employs 280 people, Lear Siegler said. The divisions make parts for aircraft and the transport dynamics division also makes parts for aerospace ground support equipment.
Lear Siegler, which is headquartered in Santa Monica, makes products for the aerospace and automobile industries and also makes boats, guns, machine tools and conveyor handling systems.
