Yorba Linda

Skate Restrictions: Out of concern that children on skateboards or roller skates could hurt themselves or others, a new law restricting the use of the wheeled objects is in the works for Yorba Linda. An ordinance that, among other things, prohibits those on skateboards and roller skates from grabbing onto animals, bikes, cars or any motor vehicles was given tentative approval last week. If officials give final approval to the new law during a Jan. 6 meeting, Yorba Linda will join several other Orange County cities that restrict skateboards and roller skates, including Anaheim, Santa Ana and Newport Beach.
