The San Diego County Coroner’s office on Sunday identified the victim of the fatal Saturday-night shooting in an East San Diego restaurant as Yong Kook Bong, a restaurant employee whose wife and daughter were working with him at the time of the killing.
Bong was shot shortly before 8:15 p.m. in the Take A Break restaurant at 5855 University Ave. by a man who had first robbed Bong at gunpoint, police said. A police spokesman on Sunday described the assailant as a black man wearing camouflage clothing, about 25 years old and 5-foot-6 in height.
