AUSTIN, Tex. — Total prize money for the 1986 Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf tournament will be $500,000, tournament officials say, and the event will feature such senior tour newcomers as Gary Player and Chi Chi Rodriguez.
The 1986 tournament, scheduled for April 21-27, will include several other golfers who only recently reached the minimum age limit of 50.
Also entering for the first time will be Bob Charles, Bruce Crampton, Dale Douglas, Howie Johnson and Bobby Nichols, tournament organizers said Tuesday.
Also playing again next year for his ninth Legends tournament will be 84-year-old Gene Sarazen, who will be teamed with golf instructor Paul Runyan in the two-man, best ball event.
