FAT ATTACK: If you’re worried about putting on a few pounds during the upcoming holiday season, get a load of this: rap sensations the Fat Boys have cut a tribute record celebrating William (Refrigerator) Perry, the Chicago Bears 308-pound rookie extraordinaire . Called “The Fat Boys Chillin’ With the Refrigerator,” the single’s due out next week on Sutra Records. The cover alone should be a collector’s item. It features the hefty rap threesome posing with Perry, which must make it the first 12-inch single with a size 52 jacket. . . . The Fat Boys also have teamed up with the Force MD’s on a new single called “The Force MD’s Meet the Fat Boys” (on Tommy Boy Records). The song features a rap serenade using the tune from “Gilligan’s Island.” It includes an account of a ride on the Staten Island Ferry, which is almost capsized when the Fat Boys, laden down with snacks, tumble on board. . . .
Meanwhile, Tommy Boy Records, home of many of the leading lights of rap music, has just signed a distribution pact with Warner Bros. Records. As with Warners’ similar deal with L.A.-based Slash Records, Warners will promote and distribute selected Tommy Boy releases. The first record Warners will distribute will be “Chillin’,” the upcoming Force MD’s album.
