Santana Girls Roll as Ellis Tallies 13

SAN DIEGO — Leslie Ellis scored 6 of her 13 points in the fourth quarter to lead Santana (4-0, 6-2) to a 47-40 victory over Helix in a Grossmont League girls’ basketball game at Santana. Ellis, a 6-foot sophomore forward, dominated with 14 rebounds. Kris Farris added 14 points for Santana.

Helix (1-2, 2-2) trailed, 31-28, after three quarters, but couldn’t contain Ellis in the fourth quarter. Helix’s Kristy Patterson led all scorers with 15 points and Jamie Speidl added 13.
