DePaul’s Tall, Talented Front Line to Test Georgetown

CHICAGO — No. 6 Georgetown has built a 7-0 record on the backs of minor opponents. The big test today is against No. 18 DePaul (12:30 p.m., Channel 4)
DePaul raised its record to 6-0 with a 70-67 decision Thursday night over Northwestern. Georgetown’s last tuneup victory was Wednesday night, an 83-59 decision over American.
“There are a lot of mismatches,” DePaul coach Joey Meyer said of the Georgetown game. “They play four guards. We play three power forwards. We’re going to see the best perimeter players in the country.”
An example of Georgetown’s strength at guard came Wednesday night when David Wingate led five guards or swingmen in double figures with 14 points.
Georgetown coach John Thompson is looking at the game as a measuring stick for his Patrick Ewing-less Hoyas against a team known for its inside strength.
