Fullerton Forced to Reschedule Game at Portland for Sunday

PORTLAND, Ore. — Tonight’s scheduled nonconference basketball game between Cal State Fullerton and the University of Portland has been postponed and tentatively rescheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday in the Chiles Center here.
Because a number of Titan players had finals Friday, Fullerton had reservations for an evening flight from Ontario Airport to Portland, but the flight was canceled and the team was unable to get another flight.
The team returned to campus Friday night. A school spokesman said that the normal holiday airline traffic crush has been compounded by the fact that fog has closed the Seattle airport for the last four days, resulting in planes being re-routed to Portland. There is a possibility, because of the weather and overcrowded flights, that the game may have to be canceled.
Meanwhile, Portland’s Fred Harris scored 17 points to lead the Pilots to a 63-46 victory over Pacific Lutheran Friday night in a nonconference basketball game in Portland. The victory improves Portland’s record to 6-2. Pacific Lutheran, an NAIA school, is 3-2.
