Boy, 3, Dies After Being Hit by Car

A 3-year-old Chula Vista boy who ran into the street in front of an oncoming vehicle died at Scripps Memorial Hospital-La Jolla Thursday morning, according to police.
Michael A. Becker, who had been walking in the 900 block of Otay Lakes Road with a 24-year-old baby sitter, broke away and ran into the street about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, police said. The driver of the vehicle that hit the boy took him to the Chula Vista Community Hospital, where he was taken to Scripps by Life Flight helicopter. The boy was pronounced dead at 1:05 a.m.
