A former Los Angeles City Housing Authority police officer was found guilty Wednesday of robbing a Pasadena self-service gas station of $200 last February.
Leander Charles Moore Jr., 45, of Altadena was charged with having shown his badge and claiming that he was on emergency police business to gain access to the cashier’s office. The attendant noted his car’s license number.
Moore, who was dismissed from the housing authority police force after his arrest, was found guilty by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Alexander Williams III in a non-jury trial. He faces a maximum prison term of five years.
