Jerry Glanville was named the Houston Oilers’ coach last week with a guarantee of remaining in that position if Houston won its final two games. Despite a 28-21 loss to the Cleveland Browns last Sunday, Glanville is still optimistic about himself and his team.
The best he can do now is close out the Oilers’ season with a victory at Indianapolis Sunday. But he showed little concern over the two-win edict from General Manager Ladd Herzeg.
“If I was not the head coach again or the possibility of that, I’ve got all kinds of pluses that counteract that,” he said, referring to his family life.
