NEW YORK — NBC, paced by Bill Cosby and Bob Hope, won the weekly ratings competition and wasn’t hurt by the prime-time return of Mary Tyler Moore on CBS, according to figures released today by the A.C. Nielsen Co.
“Mary,” a new sitcom that figures heavily in second-rated CBS’ comeback plans, ranked 31st for the week. The premiere episode performed better than the canceled “Stir Crazy” did in the Wednesday time period but didn’t reach the networks’ ratings projections.
