Senate Confirms Heckler as Ambassador to Ireland

WASHINGTON — The Senate on Monday confirmed Margaret M. Heckler as U.S. ambassador to Ireland. Heckler, eased out as secretary of the Health and Human Services Department, was approved by voice vote. Former Indiana Gov. Otis R. Bowen has been confirmed as her successor.
