Long Beach Women Defeat Fullerton

Cindy Brown scored 26 points and Carol Brandt added 17 to lead the Cal State Long Beach women’s basketball team to a 95-53 Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. victory over Cal State Fullerton in Long Beach.
The 49ers, ranked sixth in the nation, and Titans were tied, 25-25, until Brandt made a short jump shot with seven minutes remaining in the first half to put Long Beach ahead for good.
The 49ers (1-0, 5-0) outscored Fullerton, 24-4, in the last seven minutes of the half to make the game a rout.
Robin Holmes led the Titans with 18 points. Alayna McGee added 12 points and had 8 rebounds for Fullerton (0-1, 1-4).
