Brown Leads CS Long Beach Women to Win

Cindy Brown scored 26 points, and Carol Brandt added 17 to lead Cal State Long Beach’s women’s basketball team to a 95-53 Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. victory over Cal State Fullerton at Long Beach.
The 49ers, ranked sixth in the nation, and the Titans were tied, 25-25, when Brandt made a short jump shot with seven minutes remaining in the first half to put Long Beach ahead for good.
Cal State Long Beach (1-0 in the PCAA and 5-0 overall) outscored Fullerton, 24-4, in the last seven minutes of the first half.
Robin Holmes led the Titans with 18 points. Alayna McGee added 12 points and had 8 rebounds for Fullerton (0-1 and 1-4).
