The Bellflower Bears, a semipro football team, won the championship of the High Desert League last Sunday by defeating the Los Angeles Falcons, 31-20, at Los Angeles High School. Quarterback Tom Nordee threw three touchdown passes for the Bears and linebacker Joe Philpot had six tackles, three sacks and an interception. The Bears, coached by Bob Schremp, finished the season with an 11-3 record.
