Sherbecks Team Up to Win Tennis Title

David and Eric Sherbeck, of Yorba Linda, won the professional men’s doubles title Sunday of a $10,000 Pro-Am tournament at the Laguna Niguel Racquet Club, defeating Chris Baar and Tom Rettenmaier, of the San Fernando Valley, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1.

In the women’s professional doubles, Linda Mallory, of Newport Beach, and Barbara Lemberg, of San Clemente, beat Janice Metcalf, of Claremont, and Sherife Hagey, of San Diego, 6-3, 6-2.

Eric Sherbeck and Mallory defeated Ken Lindner and Shannon Gordon, both of Van Nuys, in the mixed doubles, 7-6, 6-3.

In an exhibition match, Larry Stefanki and Robert Van’t Hof beat Sashi Menon and Ross Case, 8-7.

The professional winners received $1,000 each and runners-up $500.
