WICHITA, Kan. — Chico Borja and Erik Rasmussen each had three goals and an assist Sunday night to lead the Wichita Wings to an 8-3 Major Indoor Soccer League victory over the Los Angeles Lazers.
The Wings, 6-4, moved into a first-place tie in the Western Division with the Tacoma Stars. The Lazers fell to 3-8.
Wichita got a first-quarter goal from Borja, a second-quarter goal from Rasmussen and increased its lead to 3-0 when former Cal State Fullerton star Mike Fox scored in the third quarter. Poli Garcia finally got the Lazers on the board to cut the deficit to 3-1.
Rasmussen’s second goal and a score by the Lazers’ Willie Molano made it 4-2, but Borja kicked off a three-goal Wichita spurt that made it 7-2 with six minutes to play.
