Unidentified gunmen kidnaped two Lebanese faculty members of the American University of Beirut. The abduction of economist Joseph Salameh and Dr. Munir Shamaa of the university hospital, both Christians, appeared to be part of a string of Muslim-Christian kidnapings in the capital and not related to the plight of two Americans associated with the university who have been held by Muslim terrorists for months. Elsewhere in the capital, Muslim gunmen kidnaped two Finnish soldiers serving with the U.N. peacekeeping force in Lebanon and held them for seven hours.
