NBC’s “Hostage Flight” had one element I found particularly disturbing, as an Irish Nationalist. One of the terrorists was Irish, apparently the result of some scriptwriter’s notion that it would be natural for members of diverse revolutionary movements to band together. For the record, it should be noted that modern Irish guerrillas do not hijack planes nor take hostages, nor do they intentionally involve innocent civilians--the targets are military or military support. Furthermore, they have no ties to any of the European or Middle Eastern terrorist groups, making the alliance improbable.
