Different Impression

The bit about Denmark by the Marcinkos of Barstow (Letters, Oct. 13) impelled us to write. Our hotel, 71 Nyhavn Hotel about a quarter mile from the Admiral, recommended by the Danish Tourist Bureau in New York, was a totally different experience. Our room ($100, including breakfast where we spent a week, was overcrowded and left both of us with numerous bruises from trying to navigate. The bathroom had an open shower, leaving the room wet. We asked for better quarters and were shown a suite that was not much better at $160. Personnel at the desk took lessons in tight smiles. Ice Cubes, when requested were delivered 12 cubes in a large beer glass.
We walked to the Admiral and were shown better facilities for less. Unfortunately, a combination of cancellation requirements and availability prevented our transfer. Copenhagen was lovely and we delighted in being there. Just avoid 71 Nyhavn Hotel. MORTON and FREDA LAINE Sepulveda
