What grand timing! One week before our trip to Italy, David Shaw’s article on the San Valentino Hotel and Sporting Club in Todi, Italy, appeared (Oct. 20). I tucked the clipping into a pocket to use as a maybe. Lucky I did. Since it was the first week in November, we took the chance that space might be available. Shaw was absolutely right. The inn is a real charmer.
Maurice, the very capable young manager, welcomed us with a warm fire, lovely dinner and super room (a suite with a sitting room) and our stay stretched to three nights. Maurice is grateful to Shaw for his kind article and has welcomed many guests from Southern California since it was published.
